　Tenzing Chogyal Sherpa is a glaciologist at Nepal’s ICIMOD, and the co-author of a paper that dives into how AI, machine learning and satellites could become a powerful tool for scientists to gather usable data.
　We recorded this episode before the Thame flood event, where we discussed glacial lakes, GLOF risks, how we monitor them, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in all of this.
　It’s heartbreaking to know that we were discussing these dangers, and a GLOF actually occurred. Yet, it serves as a powerful reminder of the urgency and significance of this work.
